Currently Consultant in Elderly and Stroke King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, London, Hon Reader University of Kent, Visiting Hon Senior Lecturer in Stroke Medicine, King’s College, London and Visiting Hon Senior Lecturer at Canterbury Christ Church University.
I am accredited in General Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine and have extensive experience in Stroke management. I have set up stroke services in both Sidcup and East Kent, and also Elderly Medicine Services in East Kent. I have a wide experience in clinical governance and research governance. I am a founding member of the British Association of Stroke Physicians and the UK Swallowing Research Group. I also set up the Kent Stroke Forum for clinicians and a support group for patients. I continue to undertake research in Stroke and Dementia.
I also have extensive experience in Acute General Medicine, continuing care and Psychiatry of Old Age, I have published and presented widely to my peers since 1993 and also in the Your Witness magazine. I have experience in report writing on care matters for solicitors (medical claims, negligence and extradition) and insurance companies and of appearing as an expert witness before the courts.
