I have a broad clinical practice in a busy teaching hospital. Subspeciality areas: obstetric anaesthesia, neuroanaesthesia, anaesthesia for orthopaedic surgery, pre-operative assessment. I am a Medical Examiner, providing scrutiny of in-hospital deaths. A wide clinical and academic knowledge underpins delivery of lucid and literate Reports.
Recent Reports have covered anaesthesia, peri-operative management & critical care issues:
• Caesarean section – intra-operative pain/awareness
• Major obstetric haemorrhage/amniotic fluid embolism/maternal death
• Pre-eclampsia/eclampsia
• Nerve injuries after peripheral nerve/plexus blocks
• Anaphylaxis: cardiac arrest
• Post-spinal headache/epidural blood patch
• Neurological complications (arachnoiditis, cerebral venous sinus thrombosis) after anaesthesia
• Delayed anaesthesia for Caesarean section: neonatal hypoxia
