Dr Steven John Allder is a Consultant Neurologist at Re:Cognition Health. He is currently using his clinical expertise to focus on the assessment of patients with traumatic brain injury.
He has worked in general neurology clinics that included headache, assessment of epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease and related movement disorders, and neuromuscular disease. An established sub-specialist interest in acute brain injury, cerebrovascular disease, dizziness and medically unexplained symptoms. With a proven track record in clinical research of cerebrovascular disease.
Dr Allder has also established the first emotion-focused service for medically unexplained neurological symptoms. Alongside this clinical work, Dr Allder is embarking on a research project looking at the long term impact of autonomic responses provoked by acute traumatic injuries; specifically, how certain autonomic responses to acute trauma set up changes in underlying brain networks that create and maintain long term neurological and pain syndromes.
As a certified Consultant Neurologist, Dr Allder has expertise in general neurology clinics that included headache, assessment of epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease and related movement disorders, and neuromuscular disease. He has sub-specialist interest in acute brain injury, cerebrovascular disease, dizziness and medically unexplained symptoms. He has a proven track record in the clinical research of cerebrovascular disease.
Dr Allder is lead clinician in research collaboration between Re:Cognition Health, The Aston Brain Centre and Nottingham University, exploiting functional imaging in the assessment of mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI).
Dr Allder is a Medico-legal expert in the field of neurology, his areas of expertise include;
• Head injury
• Electrocution
• Loss of memory

This work has also given me several important additional insights, which makes my involvement in cases genuinely interesting and rewarding professionally. Dr Allder states that the medico-legal avenue could be a very powerful way to pursue his passion for service design and, that here is great need for more precision of conditions in medicine.
