Mr Michael Gaunt

Mr Gaunt is an internationally recognised vascular surgeon with over 37 years' clinical experience including 25 years as a consultant surgeon. His private practice includes clinics in London and Cambridge.

Mr Gaunt is an expert in the field of venous and arterial conditions. He covers a full range of aortic surgery, carotid surgery and limb revascularisation. Mr Gaunt is also a recognised expert in varicose vein treatment.

Mr Gaunt has over 22 years’ experience of preparing medicolegal reports, advising solicitors and barristers and giving evidence in court on a wide range of vascular conditions. He also provides reports on non-specialised general surgical conditions.

He has authored over 130 peer reviewed articles and co-authored 3 medical textbooks.

Mr Gaunt has lectured and trained surgeons worldwide. He has taught Anatomy at the University of Cambridge. He was Chairman of the Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital Medical Advisory Committee for eight years and he is a former Executive Council Member and Treasurer of the International Society of Vascular Surgery.

Mr Gaunt is a GMC Consultant Appraiser for Spire Healthcare.
