I am regularly instructed to consider cases covering a wide range of Colorectal and General Surgery topics, but my particular expertise and interests involve emergency colorectal surgery, colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, abdominal sepsis, the abdominal catastrophe, anastomotic leak and bowel obstruction, as well as anorectal disorders, particularly anal sepsis and fistulae.
I undertake 15-20 EW reports annually, dealing with medical negligence, breach of duty and causation, condition and prognosis with an approximately 80:20 claimant:defendant split. I am willing to undertake Single Joint Expert work.
I consult in Liverpool but I am willing to travel within the UK with suitable agreement to see clients. CV and Terms and Conditions supplied.
Qualified MB ChB from Birmingham University 1987. Trained in General and Colorectal Surgery in the Royal Navy, Plymouth, Basingstoke, Oxford, St. Mark's Hospital and Singapore General Hospital. Consultant Surgeon Peterborough 2001-2009; Oxford 2009-2019; Arrowe Park Hospital 2019-2024.
CUBS EW Certificate 2008. Regular surgical and medicolegal CPD undertaken.
