Dr Shade Alu

Dr Shade Alu is a senior clinician who has adapted to the ever changing priorities of the NHS. She has an in-depth knowledge and a good understanding of NHS. With diverse experience spanning over 30 years of working in various NHS organisations.

Her current post is as Consultant Community Paediatrician and Designated Doctor for Safeguarding and Child Protection.

In her medicolegal capacity, Dr Alu has considerable experience in report writing for social services and medicolegal reports for care proceedings and court purposes.

These have included reports on bruises, fractures, acute head trauma, child sexual abuse, neglect and fabricated and induced illness. Dr Alu has attended court as a professional and an expert witness for the prosecution and defence.

Dr Alu has experience in, undertaking clinical work in child protection including child protection medicals, attendance at case conferences and strategy meetings. She has managed cases of fabricated and induced Illness/perplexing presentations including giving advice to other professionals.

She has expertise in all aspects of community Paediatrics in particular neurodevelopmental disorders including Autism Spectrum Disorders
