Dr. Manjeet Singh Raina

Dr Manjeet Singh Raina is a Consultant neuro-developmental Paediatrician working for Birmingham community Healthcare NHS trust. With expertise in the areas of Cerebral Palsy, Neuro-developmental disorders,and childhood epilepsy. He has been in the Consultant post since 2013 and his day job involves looking after children with conditions such as Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy, Autism, ADHD, Intellectual Disability, Brain injury and various Neuro-genetic conditions.

He also works in the paediatric neurology department at Birmingham children’s hospital as an honorary paediatrician on ad hoc basis. He has trained extensively over 10 years period in managing Paediatric general medical, neonatal, neurological and neuro-developmental conditions before taking up the current Consultant post.

Dr Manjeet Singh Raina has experience looking after children with cerebral palsy, epilepsy, post traumatic acquired brain injuries, developmental delay, autism, ADHD, Intellectual Disability, sensory impairments, neuro-genetic and metabolic conditions. He leads one of the largest multi-disciplinary spasticity management services for children in the west midlands, that involves drugs management, performing Botox injections under ultrasound guidance, and initial assessment for child’s suitability for intra-thecal baclofen pump and/or selective dorsal rhizotomy surgery. He also leads regional Paediatric Intra-thecal Baclofen Pump re-fill and monitoring service for children and work collaboratively with Neuro-Surgical centres.

Dr Manjeet Singh Raina has expertise assessing children and provides Expert Witness reports for the courts in Medico-legal cases for both Complainant and Defendant solicitor teams.

He also sees children with suspected child abuse. This work involves assessing child’s medical needs as well as providing medical reports to Police and/or Social services which can be used in the Courts. He has undertaken Bond Solon courses for Expert Witnesses on Report Writing, Cross-Examination, Witness Familiarisation- Criminal and Civil, Law and Procedure one (Civil).
