Details

Dr Adrian Ionescu is a Consultant cardiologist with expertise in imaging and coronary intervention. He is the  Clinical lead for echocardiography (scanning the heart with ultrasound) in regional cardiac centre. He graduated from Medical School in Bucharest, 1987.

With expertise in;
Transthoracic (i.e. with ultrasound probe placed on the chest) and transoesophageal (ultrasound probe attached to a ‘magic-eye’ instrument) echocardiography
Stress echo (taking ultrasound pictures while the heart is made to pump faster and more forcefully either with an infusion of drugs or with physical exercise)
Intraoperative echo (during cardiac operations)
Competent in advanced echo techniques (3D, speckle-tracking, strain imaging)
Cardiac MRI, level 2 accredited
Coronary angiography and intervention
Radial operator (i.e. the tubes through which dye is injected and procedures are performed are inserted from the wrist, rather than the groin, so patients can mobilise immediately and go home safely 4h after the procedure)
Left main stem and bifurcation work undertaken

He provides expert reports and has undertaken specialist training,Cardiff University/Bond-Solon (CUB) training as medical expert (completed December 2017.)

Terms and Conditions for Medico-Legal Work
1. Hourly rate: £225
2. Average fee for a full desktop report: £1500-£3500 depending on case complexity
and amount of medical records to review.
3. Usual fee for a short/screening report: £950
4. Letter of instruction has to include:
   a. Brief summary/chronology of the case
   b. Claimant’s details
   c. Defendant’s details
   d. Actual allegations/questions that I am expected to address in my report
5. Time to provide the report: 6 - 8 weeks from receiving formal LOI and full medical records
6. Payment terms: Bank transfer to my business account, no later than 4 months from
date of invoice unless mutually agreed otherwise when I accepted the assignment.
7. Telephone conference: as per hourly rate (billing will include conference and preparation)
8. Conference meeting: as per hourly rate (conference, preparation) and travel
expenses
9. Court appearance: £1000/half-day + travel and subsistence expenses as appropriate
10. Clinic appointment: £250
11. Domiciliary visit: £300
10. Notice for Court appearance: at least 8 weeks
11. Cancellation of Court appearance fees:
   a. less than 48 hours’ notice: £1000
   b. less than 3 weeks’ notice: £500
