Details

Mr Rufus Cartwright is a Consultant Urogynaecologist based in London. He qualifyied with an MA from Cambridge in 1998, his MBBS from University College London in 2001, before going on to achieve his research MD from King’s College London and a PhD from Imperial College London.

With over 20 years of experience. Mr Cartwright has extensive experience in a wide range of gynaecological treatments and procedures. His areas of expertise include incontinence, prolapse, vaginal prolapse, pelvic floor reconstruction surgery, gender affirmation surgery and urinary tract infection. With special areas of interest is urogynaecology, with a focus on laparoscopic and mesh surgery.

Mr Cartwright commenced medicolegal work in February 2022. He has completed reports covering a range of issues in general gynaecology, forensic gynaecology and urogynaecology. His split of reports at the request of the claimant in approximately 60% of cases, and on behalf of the defendant in 40% cases. He completes approximately 25 reports per year. He has not yet had a court appearance. Mr Cartwright has undertaken specialist Expert Witness training.

In addition to his clinical work Mr Cartwright has published over 100 articles in peer-reviewed scientific publications. He is also an editor of the International Urogynecology Journal and the Continence Journal.
