Ms Shveta Bansal is a Consultant Ophthalmologist based at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. She has been an Ophthalmologist for over 20 years, qualifying from Cambridge University followed by Guy’s Kings and St Thomas’ School of Medicine and Dentistry. She is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Edge Hill University and Academic Adviser at Manchester University.
Ms Bansal’s work is primarily in comprehensive ophthalmology including cataract surgery and all causes of vision loss. She also specialises in neuro-ophthalmology and strabismus (squint) surgery, for which she leads a tertiary service in the Lancashire region. She manages patients with complex neurological and neurosurgical problems which have impacted vision, including trauma, surgery, brain tumours, disorders of the optic nerve and raised intracranial pressure.

Miss Bansal has expert witness experience. She has completed the Bond Solon Excellence in Report Writing course in 2019. She accepts instructions by claimants and defendants in personal injury and clinical negligence cases.
She has approximately 30 published papers in peer review journals in Ophthalmology and over 25 presentations at national or international conferences. In addition, she has acted as reviewer for various peer reviewed journals.
