HKA, a leading global consultancy in risk mitigation, dispute resolution, expert witness, and litigation support services, has appointed Juan Francisco Nasser to its Forensic Accounting and Commercial Damages (FACD) practice based in Madrid, Spain.
Juan Francisco joins the practice as Partner as HKA continues to expand its presence in continental Europe. With over 20 years of experience, Juan Francisco specialises in evaluating commercial damages, conducting valuation analyses, and providing litigation support and expert testimony on a wide range of matters.
Having worked across a wide range of sectors and geographies, including both North and South America, and Asia, Juan Francisco is highly experienced in assisting clients in corporate transactions, commercial disputes, and investigations. He regularly acts as a quantum and contentious valuations expert in commercial disputes and has given expert testimony over 60 times, both in arbitration and judicial proceedings.
Amanda Clack, Partner, Regional Chief Executive Officer, EMEA, commented on the announcement:
“We are delighted that Juan Francisco has joined our team of talented experts. His well-rounded international experience and involvement in all manner of forensic accounting assignments will strengthen HKA’s growth strategy in the FACD market across EMEA and give us a stronger presence in Spain and the Spanish-speaking markets.”
Juan Francisco arrives from Grant Thornton, where he led the litigation and dispute advisory services line in Spain. Before joining Grant Thornton, Juan Francisco participated in several cross-border transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures, and the establishment of joint ventures as part of Indra’s M&A team. Juan Franciso will join Michael Laming, Director and forensic accounting expert, who is already based in Madrid.
Juan Francisco commented:
“I am excited to be joining HKA and be a part of the growing FACD team in EMEA. I look forward to working with my colleagues to develop further our service offering in commercial damages calculation, investigations, and other regulatory matters, particularly in Spain and Latin America and for Spanish-speaking clients generally.
“Madrid is rapidly developing as an important and increasingly sophisticated seat of international arbitration for Iberian and Latin American disputes. These disputes require experts who are both highly specialist with global networks, but also have a developed understanding of the Spanish market. HKA is uniquely positioned in the market to provide just this, and our expanded on-the-ground presence in Spain will be so valuable to our clients.
“Spain is a gateway to Latin America and an international centre of expertise when it comes to large construction projects. It is home to some of the largest contractors operating globally, particularly in the areas of renewable and conventional energy, as well as transport infrastructure. I am excited and honoured to be working with Michael Laming to take this forward.”
